The Union Cabinet on Wednesday approved the extension of President's Rule in Jammu and Kashmir for a period of six months with effect from 3 July 2019. This was stated by Cabinet Minister Prakash Javadekar.
As per the cabinet note Prime Minister of India has approved the extension of President rule in J&K as per the recommendations of Governor of J&K.
The present Presidents Rule is ending on 2nd July and the President Rule shall be extended for a period of 6 Months with effect from 3rd July.
A resolution to this effect shall be passed in the parliament in the upcoming session.
